I have no use for a smart phone and will never own one. I don't care what others spend their money on, but I reserve the right to laugh at them.

We (people into tech and shit) are a bad judge of what sells, I think Apple has years left.

I think so to but without Jobs forsight they may have reached their apex. I wouldn't be selling my Apple stock anytime soon

I think the IP5 will sell like hot cakes, but what we are seeing here is the same type of rumblings from the blogosphere that took down RIM.  People complaining of complacency, the devices looking the same for each generation and no innovation.  Whether it's true or not, these guys make or break tech companies, and this is the first sign that people won't continue to blindly call it the best phone available for much longer.

This industry is very cyclical, and maybe they have hit the apex, who knows?  It'll take a minimum of 4-5 years for it to pan out if this is what we are seeing.

The thing you interact with on a smartphone is the screen, Apple needs to step up their game, and release multiple phones.  I'd love a 5" screen on an iPhone and give users the option to "legally" jailbreak their iOS device.

Hell, if they really want to shake up the market, make the iPad Mini a phone.  Sell it with an Apple BT headset.  They'd sell one to half the blacks in the US.

There’s only so much Apple (AAPL) can do to refine its iPhone. Yes, the iPhone 5 might appear boring because it takes the iPhone 4/4S design and gives it a growth spurt and trimmer chassis, but that’s the point; every Apple product is a refinement of the original. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel decided to see how people would react when handed an iPhone 4 that was being pawned off as an iPhone 5. As you would expect, the reactions are hilarious. There are really people who genuinely don’t know that they’re looking at a two-year-old iPhone.

This is hilarious.

"The iPhone we always wanted"

So why the fuck did you buy millions of the previous iPhone? Blind fanboyism?

Because the tech/economy of scale didn't exist?

That phone is no big deal, it sure isn't some great jump in technology, it's rather minor. If it didn't say Apple on it I'm sure the sales would be halved if not more.

The iPhone I always wanted is a Note 2 with a fifty cent apple sticker on the back.

Apple has the marketing insight that all should (and probably are) measured by.

Think of the iPhone as the phone for the non tech folks

They're happy, so wtf...

Apple isn't stopping anyone from buying whatever the hell you want (oh wait....)

You know since they changed the connector on the bottom they should have made the phone wider.  That "works in your hand" excuse isn't cutting it.  I did own a Galaxy Note and found it to be uncomfortably large to hold in one hand.  The S3 is a good compromise.  Since the connector makes docks useless in most cases why keep the same footprint and just upgrade it to a more modern format?  The screen resolution isn't even entry level HD!  1280x720 is really entry level today.  Devices like the Note that are over 5 inches should really be 1920x1080.
